Grant Prospecting & Research

 

You likely are drawn to your work because you are passionate about the mission and not so much about building revenue streams. If you are set up as a nonprofit, it is far from obvious how to secure the funds to keep that mission going. In fact, it’s a business all in itself to understand where to look for grants and to know who is interested in your cause, and why. It’s not you: philanthropy is unnecessarily complex. I take pride in understanding your organization and mission like you understand it to help find the most promising grant opportunities. Using industry-leading grant databases, I continuously search and share a curated list of grant opportunities based on your needs and capacity.

Grant Writing

 

A friend asked me, “Do you like writing grants?” In truth, they’re hard to write. They’re made harder with arbitrary word limits, difficult questions, and inflexible deadlines. What I like about writing grants is the power they bring to realizing your cause. I approach grant writing as if your organization is my own. I strategize with you. I create program and organization descriptions with mileage for your future use but I never settle for bland, cookie-cutter writing. I’ve worked on both sides of the grant-seeker and grant-reviewer process and know how off-putting a vague or obviously recycled proposal comes across.
